I think this is purely dependent on the programming language with which you feel most comfortable. After asking another professor here that works with the program and knows a little bit of history behind the forked development, it seems that both branches are "active." Thus, it's highly dependent on your environment and your personal preference.

I am about to embark on auto myself. Before I go ahead and slam my head in a wall, which version do I want to use exactly auto2000 or 79p. My intuition says 07p would be the one I want, yes?

NICE JOB... all you wrote.
I know you put A LOT of energy into the entire thing,
and I'm sure it was of some value
although the end result was not what you hoped for.

It has to give you some satisfaction to know you got about half the votes!

I think you did a fabulous job,
and I'm so proud of you!

Love, mom

I am applying for the NSF Graduate Fellowship this year and whilst perusing thegradecafe forum I found your post. Congratulations on receiving the fellowship! You said that you would be willing to review application essays and I am wondering if you have the time to review mine. I am having my professors and graduate student friends review it but I do not know anyone that has actually won the fellowship and would value your insight. My interests are in polar biology which is a far cry from your field but I was hoping that you could still give me some perspective and tell me what you think. Please let me know if you would review my application essays (so far, I have drafts for the personal statement and previous research experience and am just starting the research proposal). Feel free to contact me at a.wright7@hotmail.com and I will send you the essays.
Congratulations!
